Alex most definitely wanted to win and was playing to win.

He's such a great guy... I've known him since we worked at the World Poker Tour together, and he has made such great success for himself without ever stepping on the toes of others. Very kind and considerate guy, and I couldn't be happier for his successes in life, one of which is marrying the love of his life Margo. :)

Congratulations, Alex!

Booking a $125k profit covers a lot of tournament buy-ins and travel expenses. Not saying he didn't want to win, but there come various points in tournaments where you time your moves based on the potential for negative results.

I don't know if 135k is really life easing money for Alex. He won more when he finished 4th at a WPT final table, and won 500k on "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader".
