Not to get internet geeky about a serious situation, but I'm really interested to see how all the Facebook and Twitter-stuff out there might be able to help. It seems a great way to quickly get out the localized word.

Godspeed.

This is absolutely JUST terrible and happens way to often anymore.

The Cop who took the initial report needs a kick in the A$$ if he was not respectful.

My Department and most of the agencies in California have strict guidelines when it comes to children 14 and under. They are considered critical missing unless they have a history of running away which would be in any agencies computers accessible in the field to Patrol cops.

We then contact our missing person's detail with top notch trained detectives who are part of our Homicide unit and we get a team of Deputies and start knocking on doors and making calls.

Colorado needs to look at it's procedures and if this guy did not follow them, shame on him.

Colorado I am sure is working hard on this now. I hope she returns home safely. Please keep us posted with updates and if there is any hint she may have come to California, PLEASE let me know so I can help.
