    LOL … I thought something similar when I first saw this commercial. How about teaching your damn kids that game rules are often in place for a reason?

    “I know you struck out, son, by why don’t you jog on over to first base anyway?” Ugh. One of the biggest problems of the late 20th century is the bullshit about artificially building kids’ self-esteem.

    Get a life, a family game of Monopoly and sharing is one thing. There will be plenty of time to teach them the technical rules later on.

    When did Monopoly become a family friendly game? I am glad I have the old school version with actual play money that I can hide in my pocket and sneak from the banker tray like it was meant to be played. Oh yeah and laughing when someone goes broke was always the best part. That commercial look nothing like my family game nights. :)

    @spcrdplyr – Monopoly is a pretty technical game, and it only really works when you follow the rules. If your kids can’t respect the rules of a game like Monopoly, then you should start them off on something simpler. (I recommend Chutes & Ladders or Candy Land — both are a lot of fun and fairly simple to grasp.)

    I’m not criticizing the commercial, because Wal-Mart wanted to show a touching, family moment. Showing a by-the-rules game of Monopoly would be much more ruthless. (My memories align pretty well with Ed’s.)

    I just deleted my 15 paragraph rant on this commercial because I didn’t want to look like a crazy person. The cliff notes are that anybody who cheats at board games should be fucking shot, children included.

    Also, can we analyze that commercial a little bit? A the 0:06 mark the kid has nothing on either Baltic or Mediterranean. Then when the bitch hands him ONE hotel, he all of a sudden has a house on Baltic??? There is more cheating here than meets the eye. F U Maddie Levy aka Caitlin.

    Also, if the mother is so into cheating, why doesn’t she give him the last Orange property he needs to start building there. I guess she’s okay with the cheating as long as it doesn’t cost her.

    Ha ha. Mom has to turn the blind eye the same way she hopes caitlyn does the same when her son’s soccer coach comes by the house to drop off the schedule for halftime oranges.

    I’m always looking for paying gigs, now that I’m back in the house. I may be at the WPT Celeb Invitational, too, depending on whether or not I can get my jury duty (ARRRRGGGGH) deferred.
