Watch it again guys. She presented poker players as being short sighted. In doing so she made it sound like both President Obama and poker players don't consider the long term effects of decisions. Obama's plan(if you take it as explained by the president) has high costs in the short term. However in the long term it will mean tax payers paying less on health care than with things like medicare and medicaid. That's +EV not -EV. Combine that with all Americans having access to health care and it most definitely is win/win.

I remember being a member of the general public who would have asked questions like Neil Cavuto's. I can still remember hearing "professional poker player" and laughing because those words didn't sound like they belonged in the same paragraph let alone the same sentence.

There's no such thing as a bad hand. Only bad timing and bad plays. Sense weakness and shove because if you don't get caught you profit and if you do get caught you're more likely to get called when you actually have the goods. President Obama could easily have bad timing with a "very good" hand. Think about it.

I'm nowhere near pro and even I'm capable of thinking with more layers and deeper levels of thought on the game than TM seems to.

I finally fixed my flash player and watched the whole thing. Gotta say kudos to Tiffany for expressing the poker metaphor(s) well. And this has got to be a good relationship to establish for when "our issues" come up. (As douchey as Cavuto can be.)

that's all it is traction -- low-hanging fruit. this is a relatively throwaway story for cavuto, so they're gonna put in the least amount of effort possible to pull it off.So when Tiffany Michelle's name came up, perfect.

Cavuto: Who's that?
Producer: She's some poker chick. She was on the amazing race.
Cavuto: Does she understand economics?
Producer: She dated a professional blackjack player, and she was really good on the phone, so she'll look good talking about risk.
Cavuto: What about that Doyle Bronson guy?
Producer: He's old and crippled, he'll peobably make us send the special handicapped limo.
Cavuto: We don't wanna have to do that. Costs more.
Producer: Plus, I owe her agent a favor; he bought me a drink the other day.
Cavuto: Ah, win-win. Bring her on!

It's sad when these news organizations go after the lowest hanging fruit on the poker tree.

Also, Cavuto was a main anchor on CNBC back in the early 90s

Really? They couldn't come up with another professional "gambler" more in tune with events outside the poker world? Howard Lederer, Lyle Berman, Greg Raymer not available?
