Extreme Poker Takes the Over (Down) Under

Extreme Poker is in the process of finding six Australian poker players, via an online promotion, to play in its Australian Extreme Poker Tournament. The craziness will happen on Thursday, October 4th in Sydney.

Six random people are being chosen to play at a poker table that will be located on a suspended platform 90m up (that’s Australian measurement for ridiculously high) at North Head with jagged rocks and the Pacific Ocean below. When a player busts, he will be forced to jump from the platform. The winner of the game will walk off and be awarded a plane ticket to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts to play in the Extreme Poker Underwater Finals. Glug glug.

This isn’t the first Extreme Tournament they’ve hosted. The first was an underwater event at St. Kitts with players like Phil Laak and Kenna James; Juha Helppi won. The second was the Arctic Freeze Out in Finland where the one and only Robert Varkonyi was the winner.

No money at stake here. Just Australians with death wishes a love of the game.
