IRS Backing Down on Poker Taxes?

That’s what Pokerati’s sources theoretically in Washington DC are telling us — that the Feds have somehow figured out and/or decided that the automatic withholding of 25 percent of all poker tournament payouts could cause the Treasury Dept. more trouble than it’s worth. We’ll see if we can’t figure out more details, but for now, that’s the word … that the IRS is fixin’ to keep with the honor system for poker and taxes that has worked so well for so long.

I’ve just heard the same thing. According to my source, the official announcement will be made in a day or two.
