The anti-UIGEA legislation really seems to be growing some teeth in Congress. Influential non-pokery folks like Rep. John Conyers (D=MI), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is concerned about what it’s doing to our reputation abroad, and apparently sees the potential for this as a “sensible government” matter (or lack thereof):

“Continuing with the same old failed policies for the sake of feel-good politics doesn’t make sense,” Conyers, of Michigan, said at a hearing on the issue.

Meanwhile, PartyGaming’s stock (PRTY.L) is down about 3 percent — nearing its all-time low — on the news.
