“I Bet You” Gets More MOJO

Those who have HDTV might be familiar with a show that debuted this year on the MOJO network called “I Bet You.” It’s a 30-minute show featuring Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak as they travel around the country and bet on everything. Prop betting gone wild, if you will.

This is a clip from one of last season’s shows:

The show has been renewed for a second season that is currently filming and will be ready for air in early 2008. Antonio discusses many of the bets on his blog.

I talked to Antonio recently for an article to be published in the current issue of All In magazine, and he absolutely loves doing the show. “We bet on everything,” he told me. “I would say that on a daily basis, Phil and I make at least three or four bets in the course of our normal lives.”

There are some clips on the network’s website, and if you have HDTV, the show seems worth a TiVo or DVR setting.

On another note, I was also able to get him to confirm that he had no relations with Pamela Anderson, though we now know that it was indeed Rick Salomon that she did to get out of a poker debt fell in love with and married.

Enjoyed the first season a lot. I don’t have MOJO so I gotta find other means of watching it. Looking forward to season 2.

OH my f*cking god, what a total waste of 5 minutes. This one tops Karridy’s highway video..not by much though.

Sorry, I should’ve warned you that you’d never get those 5 minutes back.

Personally, I thought the video was quite funny, but I rather enjoy people with no rhythm trying to dance. 🙂

yeah i chuckled during that episode. some of the “moves” they do in their routine were quite funny.

guess i only like the show so much because I would sooo do Phil. (After Jennifer though)

I kinda liked the show, too. I mean sure, it sucks … but it sure does LOOK good.

BTW, Jen, are you aware that the Pamela Anderson/Rick Salomon marriage has already fizzled?

p.s. i just read ed’s comment and think i need to clarify … when i said “look good,” i was referring to the quality of the images, not the quality of the actors.

I had no idea Pammie & Rick are already going sour. That’s so odd because they obviously got married for the right reasons, put a lot of consideration into their wedding ceremony, and built a solid foundation for a relationship. I guess I just don’t understand love.

Ed, you can have Phil. I have my eyes on Antonio. I think it was the move with the playing cards that sealed the deal.

I sure hope the ongoing writer’s strike doesn’t claim this Emmy (Tony? Oscar?) winner as a victim.

Ahhh, Scott, the beauty of reality TV is that there are no writers who could strike.
