GSN dawdled quite a bit this week in putting up episode 3 of High Stakes Poker on Youtube, but better late than never I say.

    I hate to say this, but watching this video right here right now … is the first episode of High Stakes Poker I am seeing this season.

    It’s great and awesome that I can do that, of course … but I wonder what it means if there are others like me and that’s reflected in the ratings.

    This really is a great episode. I love the Dwan vs. Brunson side-action on Eastgate’s hand. Will be curious if Dwan’s win on the 2 sets up a confidence that Brunson exploits later in the game in an actual hand …

    Also couldn’t help but notice they use Gemaco cards (as opposed to Kems or Copags). Curious if that’s an HSP thing or a Golden Nugget thing.

    Well, the first two full episodes of HSP this season have over 70,000 views on Youtube. http://www.tvbythenumbers.com reports that GSN averaged 319,000 viewers for their primetime shows March 9-15 (including those that view that programming the same day). During the entire day, GSN averages 255,000 viewers (including those that watch programming the same day).

    Since the channel skews old/female, I think this is part of their reasoning to get the shows up online themselves. Also worth noting is that Pokertube has apparently pulled all seasons of HSP off their site to viewers of the show in the US.
