Jon in Las Vegas sends along an iPhone pic from the Venetian poker room — voted Best in Vegas by you, the Pokerati readers, in 2008 — where big deep stacks action is getting underway:
Will they be able to hold on for 2009?

So what do you figure? Maybe 1 in 20 will recognize how lame that award is?
Could use a little more self promotion too. Maybe Dan as General Patten with Cal Jen in a skimpy outfit with a white, wooden gun. Speaking of white and wooden, I guess we are back to talking about Dan…

This is one of the big reasons why so many magazines give out “Best of” awards. A friend and I almost purchased a magazine in Atlanta that was published quarterly, but existed primarily to give out “Best of” awards all over town. Everyone put up the plaques, which was a ton of free advertising for the magazine … and the cycle continues.
If I could (when I can?) go back to 1996, I’d probably pull the trigger on that deal.

Dude(s), isn’t it possible that The Venetian, aka the Best Poker Room in Vegas, is simply proud to have its name associated in some way with Pokerati?

Well, I can’t do probability without taking shoes off but what the hey, I draw with you for the gutshot…

The real shame is that Pokerati readers voted for the Venetian but we all know the majority of them play at Imperial Palace.
