The 2024 World Poker Tour World Championship will be kicking off at the Wynn in Las Vegas in a few weeks’ time. As one of the largest poker festivals of 2024, it stands to be a perfect conclusion to another year that was great for live poker.
The WPT World Championship Festival runs December 3 – 24, 2024, while the Main Event takes place December 14 – 21. The entire schedule features over 60 individual events, including a WPT Prime Championship and a huge $5M guaranteed invitational freeroll.
The organizer has truly gone all out this year, as although the festival itself is shorter than in 2023, the schedule features more events and more variety. Another important change compared to the last year is that there is no guarantee set for the $10,400 WPT Championship event.

$5,000,000 ClubWPT Gold Invitational Freeroll
One very special tournament on this year’s schedule is the $5M Invitational Freeroll. This event is organized to celebrate the launch of ClubWPT Gold, a sweepstakes poker site powered by the WPT, which will be going live early in 2025.
As the name suggests, the tournament is free to enter, but the number of players is capped at 2,000. Players can secure their seats via different promotions and giveaways organized by the WPT and their partners and ambassadors.
This one-of-a-kind event will give out $5,000,000 in total prizes, including a cool million reserved for the winner. There will be entries to the WPT World Championship given out as consolation prizes, while the remainder of the prize pool will be distributed as a mix of regular prizes and mystery bounties.
This ought to be one of the softest tournaments of the year as it will attract many players completely new to the game. This means there is a lot of value to be had, and there is plenty of time to secure your seat. Simply check out WPT social channels to see what options are currently available.
WPT World Championship Ends the Year in Style
The upcoming WPT World Championship Festival will conclude 2024 in style, offering players heaps of quality action leading up to end-of-year holidays.
Although December is somewhat packed in terms of action, with the EPT in Prague and WSOP Paradise happening around the same time, there is no doubt the festival will attract some big names, especially those who call Las Vegas home or spend a majority of their time in the city.
This is not just an opportunity to play for big prize pools but also to meet some of the best players in the world and, with a bit of luck, play a few hands against them. So, mark your calendars and get your ducks in order for one of the biggest poker spectacles of the year!
