  1. Dude, BPP, I agree, and that’s why we don’t really post them very often … but c’mon … a royal flush — on the last hand — followed by quad Sixes twice … all within a half-hour? That’s special, no?

And the fact that they happened while I was donkin’ around in $2 and $5 games? (I lost one of them.) Well that’s less special, but still.

BTW, I was just checking out Betfair a few hours ago. Am trying to understand soccer odds. I think Wigan will beat Tottenham today, or at least draw. Go Wigan!

  2. I may be done with online poker for a bit. Will see.

Last night I took a beating. The 2 straights beat by a boat…and even the flopped set beat by bigger flopped set did not do it. It was the donk who reraised me when I raised with QQ (understood if he thought i was “buying the pot”) and then calls my $10 rereraise of $14. Left me with $9…which he puts in on flop and I call. He has Qc9c…only 1 club on flop of something like J46. Turn is a T and the river…yes…a K!

Had to leave after that one because I could have easily dropped my last $700 bankroll in the next hour.

  3. I’d like to say I treated your question about Tottenham/Wigan with the contempt it deserved but I did not see your question before the game:)

Soccer odds are simple – on betfair anyway. With only three outcomes – win, tie or lose – then every outcome should be 3.0 or for the poker-minded among us:

“With 2 non-pair cards, the probability of flopping:

At least a pair (using your pocket cards) from two non-pair cards ”

    More or less.

As in any gamble, the odds must be in your favour. Wigan were always going to struggle at Tottenham. Wigan had just lost their coach, Tottenham had just hired a new one. There are other reasons.

It’s best to be informed before making a bet – but that doesn’t stop me playing poker:)
