Run Up Series on ACRPoker Wraps Up Paying Over $10M in Prizes

Last Sunday, August 16, was one of the biggest days ACRPoker has seen in a while, with heavy action and players taking home millions of dollars in tournament prizes.

There was over $20,000,000 in guarantees spread across various tournaments on Sunday, with the Run Up Series coming to its conclusion and crowning three Main Event winners, and the $1,000,000 Mystery Bounty wrapping up.

The increased traffic on the site also boded well for two starting flights of Venom events that ran on the same day. Day 1B of the No Limit Hold’em version attracted 1,105 entries, while the PLO version saw a total of 238 entries joining the action.

The Run Up Series Concludes in Style

The big finale of the Run Up Series lived up to expectations. We saw three Main Events crown their respective winners, paying a total of over $1.5 million in combined prizes.

The $1,050 Main Event had a guarantee of $750,000, but that guarantee was comfortably exceeded thanks to 866 entries who turned up to play. With the final prize pool of $866k, the eventual winner collected just over $173,000 for their efforts.

The $215 Main Event saw a turnout of 2,321, which was also enough to get beyond the $400k guarantee. The winner in that one took home just over $57,000.

The only of the three Main Events that didn’t meet its guarantee was the $33 version. The tournament had a promise of $200,000, but 4,276 entries were not enough. Americas Cardroom made up the difference, though, and the eventual winner banked $36,000.

Adding to the big trio was the $66 multi-flight Mystery Bounty, which came with a massive $1,000,000 guarantee. It took some doing, but in the end, the tournament attracted 16,117 entries, coming very close to its guarantee, and paid the winner a hefty sum of over $73,000 (plus $5,650 they collected in bounties).

ACRPoker Pays Nearly $11,000,000 in Prize Money

The Run Up Series was largely a success for Americas Cardroom. Across the board, the operator paid $10.81 million in prize money, and they had to reach into the purse to make up $458,960 in total overlays, so players got paid as promised even in a few instances where the fields were not big enough to cover the guarantee.

As already mentioned, the largest single overlay came in the $33 Main Event, where the operator had to make up the $71,000 difference to cover the generous $200,000 guarantee.

In addition to tournament prizes, players also picked up a fair bit of extra cash via leaderboard races. The High Leaderboard winner picked up $10,000 in cash and two tickets to the upcoming Venom events, while the Low Leaderboard banked $5,000 and two Venom tickets valued at $2,650 apiece as well.

With the Run Up Series now over, all attention turns to two Venom tournaments, featuring $15,000,000 in guaranteed prizes between them. Plus, there is plenty more August tournament action still to come on ACRPoker, so don’t miss out.
