Attempt to Win a Seat in the WSOP Main Event #3

by , Jun 18, 2006 | 3:27 pm

So no Lodge poker this afternoon … and I swear it’s only a coincidence that at this moment I am playing in the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars. Extra thanks to Ryan for getting me in early this a.m.

This event is a $37,000 freeroll, open to all bloggers. Top three finishers get a $12,000+ main event package. I was expecting like 300 or so entries … but this thing started with 2,247. As it stands now, I am a slightly below average stack … in 723rd chip position out of 1,776 remaining.

I think Tiny B is playing, too … but I have yet to find him.

UPDATE: We’re at the first break, and I’m in 37th chip position out of 1,497 players remaining.

I’m out. 226th place. Was as high as 3rd … but then took an unlucky flop and made two big mistakes (not tilty, just not smarty) thereafter. Was enough to due me in.

Oh, also, fyi, I was wrong about the prize payouts. Click the link above to see the PokerStars blog for the real payouts.

143rd. Just got cold decked at the end. Said fuck it & pushed w/Q8. Flop: Q-J-x, thats when I saw my opponent’s hand; AT. I was screaming “NO KING!”

The god’s obliged w/a K on the turn.
