Recently closed: Planet Hollywood (January 2026), Resorts World (March 2026), and Sahara (November 2024) have all folded their poker rooms, part of a consolidation that has taken more than 40 Vegas rooms since 2011.
Our Picks by Player Type (August 2026)
- Best overall room: Venetian. Fifty tables, open around the clock, a series running most weeks of the year, and enough traffic that a game is always going. If you have one session in Vegas and no other information, play it here.
- Best for tournaments: Wynn. The structures, the guarantees, and the fields make it the serious tournament player’s default, and the Signature Series (August 17 to September 7) is the room at full roar. Venetian’s DeepStack calendar is the volume alternative.
- Best value: Orleans. Mixed-game ring events with real guarantees at $150-240 buy-ins, honest dailies, and a bad beat jackpot that paid out $141,000 in a single week this August. Nobody stretches a bankroll further.
- Best for low stakes and beginners: South Point. Cheap daily tournaments with friendly regulars, and $120 gets you a real evening of poker. Caesars Palace’s $100-169 dailies are the on-Strip equivalent.
- Best cash games: Bellagio. Still the high-stakes room of record, and its $150 daily (take the $17 add-on, it doubles your stack) is a sneaky-good way to play a famous room cheaply.
- Downtown: Golden Nugget. The only poker downtown, and as of July 2026 it’s a brand-new room in the Rush Tower. We’ll have the first full review as its tournament schedule lands.
Tournaments and Series: The Next 90 Days
- Venetian DeepStack Showdown, through August 31. More than $1.1 million in guarantees across $250-600 buy-ins. The nightly $200 bounty event runs alongside it.
- Wynn Signature Series, August 17 to September 7. Forty-one events: NLHE, mixed games, seniors, and PLO. The fall’s first marquee stop, previewed in our weekly column.
- Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza III, September 1 to 27. Over $1.4 million guaranteed, $400-1,100 buy-ins, headlined by the $1,100 MSPT Nevada Poker State Championship with $300K guaranteed.
- Orleans mixed game ring events, weekly. Rotating formats ($10K guaranteed on the big ones) at buy-ins from $150. The best mixed-games calendar in the city, covered in our column each week.

Every room on this page gets visited in person, and the table above shows when. Rake numbers come from the placard at the table, not from another website. We accept no payment for reviews, no paid placements appear anywhere in this section, and when a room comps anything during a visit, the review says so. Photos are ours or used with the room’s permission and credited. When something changes, the verified date changes with it; if a date looks old, tell us and we’ll re-walk the room.
