Gulf Coast Poker Championships Cancelled

Beau Rivage in Biloxi Closed Temporarily

Due to Hurricane Gustav and the accompanying evacuations and flood threats, CardPlayer is reporting that the popular Gulf Coast Poker Championship series at the Beau Rivage casino in Biloxi has been canceled. Some of the preliminary events were a casualty, as well as the main event that was scheduled to start tomorrow.

Beau Rivage and neighboring casinos have been closed since evacuations were mandated several days ago but will reopen soon, as little to no damage was incurred by the recent storm. There has yet to be an official word about any possible rescheduling of the Gulf Coast Poker Championship. And with more hurricanes approaching the U.S., it might be too soon to schedule anything.

Good luck to all those along the southern and eastern U.S. coasts. Hope you\’re spared any damage during hurricane season!
