Another week has come and gone, and the poker world has continued its dynamic flow. Even as most of the poker world convened in Barcelona for the European Poker Tour festival, big announcements kept coming left and right, already preparing us for what’s to come in the next few months. 

In one of the biggest bombshells in recent poker history, the popular HCL show announced that none other than Daniel Negreanu would soon be making his debut appearance.

On the tournament front, GGPoker and WSOP revealed the schedule for the upcoming WSOP Paradise festival, while Triton Poker revealed 40 attendees for its Invitational tournament in Jeju, which could end up being a record breaker.

Daniel Negreanu Is Making His HCL Debut

One of the biggest news we could possibly have wished for dropped last week, as Hustler Casino Live announced they would be hosting Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu for the first time ever. 

For thousands of poker fans, this news is a real dream come true, as it brings together the world’s most popular poker player and the most-watched poker live stream after years of anticipation. 

Negreanu’s debut on HCL was made possible in big part thanks to NSUS Group, GGPoker’s parent company, acquiring a big share in High Stakes Poker Productions, the company that runs HCL. 

Thanks to this acquisition, Daniel received a new incentive to finally show up and play on the show as GGPoker’s most notable ambassador and the face of the biggest online poker operator in the world.

As Negreanu put it himself: “You rarely see me playing high-stakes poker on streams anymore, but this is going to get me out of retirement and returning to the felt, playing on the most epic cash game stream poker has ever seen.” 

Indeed, Daniel has not had too much experience playing in big TV cash games, and the experience he did have came many years ago and was not something Kid Poker will remember too fondly. 

For years, Negreanu focused on tournament poker, where he has excelled,  but cash games were not his forte. His excursions into the cash game world on shows like High Stakes Poker and PokerStars Big Game, along with his heads-up challenge against Doug Polk, produced limited results, leading many to question if Daniel was truly a grill all-round poker player.

This coming Friday, he will have a chance to prove himself in front of an audience of thousands, as he enters the ring against the likes of Nik Airball, Sam Kiki, Andy Stacks, 3Coin, and Jellyfish. 

The HCL regulars will welcome a player of Daniel’s stature and bankroll depth with open arms, as they seek to play deep stack poker against a major poker figure they believe to be unprepared for the challenge. 

As soon as the news dropped, Nik Airball took to X and posted that he was “coming for Negreanu’s head” and begged the champion to bring all the sponsorship money he could muster.

WSOP Paradise Schedule Is Announced

tNow that the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas is wrapped up, and the Main Event champion was crowned, the WSOP took the next step and announced the complete schedule for the upcoming WSOP Paradise festival. 

The much-anticipated tropical poker bonanza will run from December 2 to 17 at the Baha Mar Hotel & Resort in The Bahamas and feature $120 million in guaranteed prizes, along with 20 new gold bracelets. 

The festival will be highlighted by the $25k Super Main Event, which carries a massive $50 million guarantee and promises to be one of the top poker tournaments of the year. 

Apart from this prestigious event, WSOP Paradise will host an exclusive $250k Invitational High Roller with a $10 million guarantee, along with a number of other $50k and $100k High Rollers, making the festival an ideal destination for all the high-stakes regulars out there. 

Players with more limited bankrolls will also have their opportunities, with events like the $10k GGMillion$, $5k Bahamas Big Bet Mix, $10k 8-Game Mix, and $5k The Closer just a few of the tournaments that should attract the wider poker audience. 

This year, the Paradise festival will be included in the WSOP POY race for the first time in a long time, which means players like Alex Foxen and Shaun Deeb, who are chasing after the prestigious title, will be among the first to arrive in The Bahamas in search of deep runs and POY points. 

As the winter slowly approaches, tournament players from across the world will be looking to get their bankrolls in order and prepare for what should be one of the most exciting tournament festivals of the entire year. 

Ivey, Mateos, and Haxton Among Triton Invitational Attendees

This coming September, the Triton Poker Series is hosting its second festival in Jeju for 2026, and it’s going to be an epic one. 

The fall festival in Jeju has traditionally been the most popular on Triton’s yearly schedule, but this year might just shatter all previous records, in big part thanks to a special tournament that will be included in the schedule. 

For the first time in its history, Triton Poker is bringing its trademark Invitational High Roller to Asia. The $200k Invitational will run from September 12 to 14, and host at least 40 players, as 20 pairings have already been revealed by Triton Poker on their official X page. 

Players like Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Adrian Mateos, Isaac Haxton, Jesse Lonis, Justin Saliba, Jason Koon, and many others will be among those representing the pros, while the recreational side will see the likes of Paul Phua, Ramin Hajiyev, Jean Noel Thorel, and Aaron Zang enter the event and try to spin up a big step during Day 1 play. 

This unique event is different from other tournaments in the fact it pits pros against pros and recs against recs on Day 1, giving everyone a fair fighting chance in the early going, and making for an interesting mix of players in the later stages. 

One of the most unusual twists in the Triton Invitational plotline is the appearance of Ethan “Rampage” Yau among the “recreationals,” considering his career of a poker streamer and regular appearances in high-stakes cash games across the world. 

Despite all that, the Triton organizers have decided that Rampage can play the tournament as a rec, as his tournament record is far from stellar.
