Competing in tournaments on your own is fun and challenging, but it’s not the only way to stay in action. Buying pieces of other players has been a thing in poker for almost as long as the game has been around, giving you an opportunity to experience the thrill of a deep run without actually playing.
Of course, if you want to step out of your circle of close poker friends, things get complicated. It’s not just about finding good players you can stake; it’s also about making sure you get paid when they win, and that aspect comes with its own set of problems.
If you have interest in staking other players but are (rightfully) worried about all these things, you’ll be happy to hear that ACRPoker has introduced a concept of Staking Tickets. Currently in the beta stage and only available to some players, the system allows you to stake players without having to deal with any of the logistics.
You still need to find the players you believe are worth investing in, but beyond that, you don’t have to worry about profit splitting, percentage disputes, or any of the usual headaches that come with private staking deals.

Back Players the Easy Way With Staking Tickets
Americas Cardroom has started offering a simple and efficient way to back any player on the site. The Staking Tickets system is easy to use, even if you have no previous experience with these types of dealings.
First off, you need to find a player(s) you want to back. As mentioned, that part is on you. Whether you meet them in person, in your study group, on Discord, or wherever else, it should be someone you either believe is a good player or someone you simply want to have fun sweating in a tournament.
Once you know who you want to back (including their ACRPoker username), open the Staking tab in your client and go to the Staking Ticket section.
Here, you can create a ticket for a specific event or a generic MTT ticket for any tournament of a certain buy-in. In the settings, you can choose how big a percentage you want to keep for yourself and also set the expiry date for the ticket.
The last step is to offer the ticket to the player of your choosing. When they use the ticket to play a tournament, if they cash, you’ll automatically receive your percentage of winnings. No drama, no problems.
New Opportunities Await
As mentioned, Staking Tickets are currently in beta, which means they’re not available across the platform just yet. We do expect ACRPoker to make the full rollout in the near future, adding yet another fun feature to their client.
A great thing about Staking Tickets is that you can use them however you like. Serious backers can generate a bunch of tickets for their trusted players. Hobby players can use them to have some fun with friends without any unnecessary stress.
And if you’ve never tried having a piece of another player, this is a great opportunity to give it a go and have some fun with it. Sometimes, it can be just as exciting, if not more, as playing yourself.
