The short answer is that the Planet Hollywood poker room is closed. It shut its doors at the end of January 2026, and the space on the mezzanine level remains vacant with no reopening announced.

A room with three lives
Planet Hollywood’s poker room never quite found a permanent home. The property hosted poker in three separate locations over the years, and the final version was the shortest-lived of all: it opened on the mezzanine just before the 2025 World Series of Poker, caught one summer of tourist traffic, and was gone within nine months.
At its best, this was a classic center-Strip tourist room: low-stakes hold’em, a party crowd wandering in from the Miracle Mile Shops, and some of the softest small games on the Strip. It was never a destination for serious players, but for a first-ever casino poker session, it was exactly the right kind of forgiving.
Why it closed
Caesars Entertainment pulled the plug in January 2026 without much ceremony, and the reasoning is the same as everywhere else on this list: poker takes a lot of floor space for a modest return, and a small room next to giants doesn’t earn its square footage.
Planet Hollywood’s poker sat a ten-minute walk from Bellagio’s 37 tables and Caesars Palace’s own room, both under the same corporate umbrella. When the traffic consolidated, the small room lost.
It’s part of a bigger pattern. Planet Hollywood was one of three Strip poker rooms to fold in 20 months, following Sahara in November 2024 and followed by Resorts World in March 2026. More than 40 Las Vegas poker rooms have closed permanently since 2011, down from roughly 60 citywide in the poker boom years. Seventeen rooms remain, and the poker keeps concentrating into the big ones.
Where to play instead
The good news: Planet Hollywood sits in the middle of the densest poker neighborhood in America. Within a 15-minute walk:
- Bellagio (37 tables): the high-stakes room of record, but its daily tournaments and $1/$3 games are welcoming enough.
- Caesars Palace (16 tables): the natural successor for Planet Hollywood’s crowd, with $100-169 daily tournaments and soft tourist games around the clock.
- Aria (24 tables): a step up in polish, home of the PokerGO Studio, best when a series is running.
- Horseshoe (18 tables): the WSOP’s home, with a busy daily tournament schedule.
