The One Tournament on CoinPoker Breaks Its $5M Guarantee

The One, CoinPoker’s largest and most ambitious tournament to date, is now officially in the books, and the operator can be more than happy with how things turned out.

The $250 event came with a massive guarantee of $5,000,000 and $1,000,000 for the winner. By the time it was all said and done, The One managed to break its original promise by over $500,000.

With 24,075 total entries from 8,139 unique players, The One ended up paying $5,537,000. The biggest chunk of that went to ‘TonyTheToenailcollector,’ the last player standing in the tournament, who added a cool million to their poker bankroll.

Great Stories from a Great Tournament

The five million guarantee that CoinPoker put on The One was certainly ambitious for a $250 tournament, but it turned out the operator assessed the situation correctly.

Over 8,100 individual players took it to the virtual felt, and they made just over 24,000 entries to bring the final prize pool just over $5.5 million. With that, the original guarantee was exceeded by over 10%.

There were 26 individual Day 1 flights, and by the time they all played out, 2,362 players made it through to Day 2. Included in that number were 95 players who managed to punch their ticket to The One through freerolls and nearly 500 who won their seats via various satellites.

One of the most successful qualifiers was ‘Tiniesta1994,’ who qualified for The One playing a $1 direct satellite. He turned that entry into a $19,250 prize by finishing 15th in the event.

A New Millionaire Crowned

In addition to the massive guarantee, The One’s big appeal was the fact that the eventual winner would end up taking home $1,000,000, which is a massive amount for a tournament with a $250 buy-in.

That accomplishment was claimed by the player going under the alias ‘TonyTheToenailcollector’ who defeated ‘zoru99’ in the final skirmish to claim the win.

Tony put in quite a bit of effort to get to the final table, though, as he fired eight separate Day 1 bullets. He ended up carrying a stack of 76 big blinds through to Day 2 and proceeded to eventually turn that stack into $1,000,000 – the largest tournament payout in CoinPoker’s history.

The rest of the final table had nothing to complain about, either. The runner-up, ‘zoku99,’ pocketed $500,000, while everyone else from third to sixth place picked up six figures.

In fact, the fifth-place finisher ‘SeniorTalez’ won $160,000, which was their biggest payout by far. Prior to this, their largest tournament cash was $125, so this was quite an improvement.

This was the first edition of The One, and the tournament certainly lived up to its name. CoinPoker will be bringing the event back in 2027, once more guaranteeing $1,000,000 for the winner. So, in case you’ve missed it this time around, keep your ear to the ground for next year.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or an aspiring veteran, The One is a one-of-a-kind event that you don’t want to miss.
