HORSES Gone From the Stable

by , Jun 28, 2008 | 8:25 pm

With the final 16 players in the money, there were numerous HORSEs who were potentially great stories. This isn’t to diminish their feats in this tournament – to survive the initial field of 148 in a $50K buy-in mixed game to be one of the 16 finalists and take home a few bucks for their troubles is outstanding. Here’s the way it’s breaking down:

16th place: Doyle Brunson – $124,320
Just the thought of Doyle Brunson winning the Chip Reese trophy, named after his best friend… Who doesn’t get chills thinking about the potential of that warm and fuzzy moment?

15th place: Andy Bloch – $124,320
Second place finisher to Chip Reese in 2006, it would be nice to see him win something after so many second places in the last few years!

14th place: Joseph Michael – $142,080
No feeling or opinion whatsoever, I’m sure he’s a nice guy but…

Players are on dinner break with Erick Lindgren at the top of the leader board and Daniel Negreanu at the bottom. More to come when they return.
