Just when Bob Daily thought his resignation from Harrahs was final, DG Holdings Ltd (United Kingdom) and their online gaming division pulled him back in.
Robert Daily stated:
“After my resignation, DGH approached me to join their group as a board member to provide leadership to their online gaming platform – especially poker – and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I have made many great friends within the poker industry and I look forward to working with them in the future from a different perspective.â€Â
Bob was appointed as the 2006 WSOP Tournament Director and again for 2007.
Michele, what is DG Holdings? I’m a little confused, particularly with their connection to the WSOP. I saw the same press release that you quote from, but it didn’t make sense to me. And so are you saying that he was appointed as 2007 TD, but no longer will be? Or he is gonna be TD, but working for someone else?
And have I just been clueless for two years? I thought Jack Effel was the WSOP TD! Wow, how could I have missed that one?
And, of course … “online gaming platform.” WSOP.com baby! Harrah’s wants in. We all know it.
Yes, their email was a bit confusing. DG Holdings is an internet based company in the UK. Bob was appointed for this year’s wsop but has since resigned. Not sure who will take over.

****Mr. Daily leaves Harrah’s after 11 years in various capacities. During his tenure, he served as the 2005 WSOP Event Manager and 2006 WSOP Tournament Director. Bob received the prestigious 2007 Chairman’s Award for his efforts.
“I have greatly enjoyed my years with Harrah’s, and especially the World Series of Poker,†said Daily, who was again appointed as the upcoming 2007 WSOP Event Director before announcing his departure.
“I have every confidence this year’s WSOP will run smoothly and efficiently and if I did not feel strongly that the tournament was ready, I would not have left at this time.****
