Freerolls usually come with a small prize pool and a huge field, but ClubWPT Gold flipped that this month.
Its new 5 Million Free Entry Tournament has a 5,000,000 guarantee, 1,000,000 for first place, and you don’t have to pay anything to play.
It started on November 1 and runs through November 29, so there’s still plenty of time to get in.
If you sign up using code POKERCOACHIN, you’ll get PokerCoaching’s How to Crush ClubWPT Gold Games course for free, but let’s firstly see how the tournament works.
Very soft games
Free SC every day
Legal in the US
Trusted brand Play two free flights a day
The tournament runs as a multi-flight event. There are two starting flights every day, at 1pm and 7pm PT.
Every ClubWPT Gold player gets one free entry into each flight. That’s up to two free shots a day, every day of the month, and close to 60 over the whole series.
ClubWPT Gold says it’ll add more chances to play as Day 2 gets closer.
Know what the rebuys and add-ons cost
This is where a lot of “free” tournaments get sneaky, so it’s worth being clear.
- If you bust during late registration, you can re-enter for 100 Chips.
- Once late registration closes, there’s an optional 50-Chip add-on to build your stack.
Both are optional. You can take the rebuy, the add-on, both or neither, and your initial entry costs nothing either way.
If you’d like the re-entry without paying full price, ClubWPT Gold runs satellites that award 100-Chip re-entry tickets.
Understand how the payouts work
The 5 million is guaranteed across the whole tournament, not per flight. That matters, because each flight is really a qualifier with some cash attached.
In every flight, the top 5% of the field get paid. The top 3% advance to Day 2 on Sunday, November 29, where everyone left plays for the rest of the 5 million and the 1 million first prize.
So a deep run in any single flight does two things. It gets you a payout on the day, and if you finish in the top 3%, it puts you in the room where the big money is.
Treat it like a real tournament
Here’s the honest bit. A free entry means a big, loose field, especially in the early levels.
That’s good news if you’ve got a plan. Lots of players will treat their free entry as a lottery ticket, splash around and bust early. If you stay patient, value bet relentlessly, and avoid big bluffs into players who can’t fold, you’ll pick up chips from people who aren’t playing for the long haul.
With two flights a day, you also don’t need to force anything. One bad beat isn’t the end of your series. There’s another flight in a few hours on this online poker site.
Get a free course with code POKERCOACHING
If you’re new to ClubWPT Gold, there’s an extra worth grabbing before your first flight.
Sign up with the code POKERCOACHING, and you’ll get PokerCoaching’s How to Crush ClubWPT Gold Games course for free. It’s 16 episodes and just under eight hours of training with Jonathan Little, Justin Saliba and Chris Brewer. Here you can see what you will get inside.
It covers the spots that come up in these games all the time. Value betting, adjusting to loose and splashy players, multiway pots, finding 3-bets and squeezes, river decisions, and dealing with variance.
That’s pretty much a checklist for a big free-entry field.
Here’s how to claim it.

- Make sure POKERCOACHING is in the promo code field when you register, since it can’t be added after your account exists

Check you’re eligible
The tournament is open to players 21 and older with a valid ClubWPT Gold account who live in the US or D.C. It’s void in Washington, Canada, and anywhere else it’s prohibited, and restrictions in New York and Florida may limit prizes.
ClubWPT Gold also isn’t available in every state, so the sign-up screen has the final word on yours.
Full rules are in the official terms and conditions.
Take your seat
A free entry, two flights a day and a 1 million first prize is about as good as freerolls get. The field will be big, but plenty of it won’t be playing seriously, and that’s exactly where a bit of preparation pays off.
Sign up, grab the free course, and fire your first flight today.
