WSOP Coming Back to Texas?

I know … it never really was in Texas. (And hey, whatever happened to that DSOP?) But we all know that Texans were the force behind the World Series of Poker … and now the Apollo Group and Texas Pacific Group are getting closer to a $16.7 billion deal to buy Harrah\’s, parent company of the WSOP.

Very interesting. Check out this video I stumbled across the other day:

Suggests the company was in some semblance of cahoots with Sen. Bill Frist. (I can\’t prove it, but I believe it — particularly as Frist is showing he had some real prowess when it came to stock manipulations.) After all, Harrah\’s clearly wants in on the online gambling biz … and the likes of PartyPoker were a little too big for them to compete with on the pre-UIGEA playing field.

Meanwhile, Harrah\’s continues its legal strongarm efforts to secure ownership of WSOP.com.
