Daniel Negreanu suggests UB shouldn’t exist/Seebs UB Hand History Update

The Hardcore Poker Show makes news again with its interview on Wednesday with Daniel Negreanu. Among the variety of topics covered, Chris Tessaro and Rob Pizzo brought up Phil Hellmuth’s comments he made on the show two weeks ago, and adds comments about Ultimate Bet, a site he has been a critic of going back to their first WPT event back in 2002.

Yeow, some of the most intelligent Negreanu-isms ever.

A good reminder that we don’t OWE UB shit … sorry, just don’t … and I think he adds some sobreity to the Hellmuth competing poker-site hubbub.

BTW, I’m not familiar with Negreanu’s UB dissing back in 2002 … what was his problem with them then?

The first WPT tournament in Aruba was set up as amateurs playing for $50,000 while 9 pros were playing for $250,000 with the winners playing each other for the $25k WPT Championship seat. Allegedly, the winner (Phil Gordon) got something less than $250,000. Negreanu was supposed to be one of the pros, but for reasons I don’t believe he’s ever said, decided not to take part.

Right you are, Gary. I went to Russ to ask his help in the fundraiser
for Kori and he was the first to step up and say “I’ll do it”. He now
is planning to do something for Jack Slatter, who needs the heart
transplant. He is one of the most honorable men I know and his word is
golden.

Some of the things that get lost in the UB scandal are the things that occured after. Phil H. get over 5,000 pot awarded when he loses? They say its a “software” glitch? How is this company in business? Who puts money on this site, and why?
