A big shout out to the readers — you all we’re a “great help” on this one …
Below are my picks for Batface Rotisserie Poker. Whaddya think? Though I don’t yet really know the rules and I’m not sure what it is we’re playing for, apparently some of these guys will end up on my team, and when they win, I’ll win, too. Whee!
John Juanda
Steve Wong
Phil Hellmuth
Joe Hachem
Phil Ivey
Rolande de Wolfe
David Williams
Eric Seidel
Huck Seed
Jeff Madsen
Harry Demetriou
Michael Mizrachi
Daniel Negreanu
Tom Schneider
Annie Duke
Gregg Merkow
Antonio Esfandiari
Robert Mizrachi
Danny Smith
Kenna James

On the whole, good picks.
Let me guess, Tom Schneider told you to pick Tom Schneider. 🙂
Danny Smith is a great sleeper pick. Annie Duke is a horrible pick, as she rarely plays big tourneys anymore and doesn’t turn in stellar performance when she does, but I guess she’s sort of like ending up with Jose Mesa as your rotisserie baseball closer because you stocked the outfield and starters first.

Yo Spaceman, what’s up? Yes, I kinda liked Danny Smith because shortly after playing Pai Gow with him, I talked some shit, along the lines of, “yeah, right, what has THAT guy done in poker.” Huh … who knew?
Here’s the starting line-up I ended up with.
On your advice, I think I will kick Annie Duke to the curb.

So I’m gonna get rid of Annie Duke … could always replace her with Danny … another possibility … am thinking ZeeJustin.
I’ve got one other guy in mind, too … anyone else on my list I should get rid of?
And for me, it was a toss-up between Madsen and Shannon Shorr. Thoughts?

Who is Gregg Merkow? Oh wait… it’s Tunica time again. Maybe we will be reintroduced.

I would take Daniel over Annie if I could get him any day. Was Daniel not available when you got to him? Huck Seed should be a good pick as well as JJ and of course Eric S.

And come on … let’s face it … Steve Wong is the steal of the draft, no? After all, there’s a reason he made “The P*List.”

Looking over his 2006 performance I don’t see how you can go “wong” with him if he continues that trend in 2007!

Hmmmmm, Steve Wong is awesome (and no I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend). Hellmuth is pretty consistent but I think he tries harder for the wsop???? maybe i am wrong, but why the hell not? that’s the real history book.
too bad you couldn’t get JC. Not he’s a rock star.
But, hey, I’m just a woman so what the hell do I know?

I mean, “now”

“what the hell do I now”?

NOW…he’s a rockstar.

Shorr > Madsen for these purposes, just b/c he has established himself on the circuit over a longer period. I don’t think Jeff has cashed in a major event outside of the WSOP yet.
Daniel > Annie fo sho.
I met Danny playing 2-5 NL at the Grand during the first tourney series I ever covered, right after he turned 21. He hadn’t played any events yet but said he knew E-Dog and might end up playing some big ones. After playing with him that night I thought, “This kid’s good. He’s gonna go places.” And he remains humble, too. Always a good thing.

Cool. I have since learned I did not play Pai Gow with Danny Smith. (It was Danny Fuhs.)
So I think I might go with ZeeJustin. I’m being serious!

[…] I put in a request for a change to my line-up … dropped Annie Duke and replaced her with Justin Bonomo, aka the infamous ZeeJustin. He has been playing really well of late, and while he just missed the WPT final table in the main event of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, he won the $2,500 buy-in. […]

Steve Wong is good, but I did bust him out of a $550 super sat on Sunday in Tunica. He misplayed a hand. Guess that he needs to work on the concentration It was a tough table. Men was there also

I can only expect that being a second-round draft pick has probably gone to his head.

Hi Dan
Steve Wong called me this morning. He said thank you for picking him on your team.
