The WSOP just sent out their 2009 Media Guide, and damn, gotta say … there’s a lot of stuff in there.

In an attempt to show the true bigness of it all … Beyond the basics like schedules, past winners, etc. (complete with bar-graphs of bracelet winners so you can get a visual understanding of how Phil Hellmuth’s 11 bracelets compare to Doyle Brunson’s 10), this thing has: stats and factoids, history, info on the Hall of Fame and new HOF selection process, details about the PAC …

    I found the most interesting thing the TV schedule, how it really covers only 2 tournaments. Last year, the tournaments aired on ESPN360 (and bwin) for those overseas/didn’t have access to ESPN360 in the US.

    It’s nice that they’re getting the public involved in the HOF process, it’ll be fun to see who the top 10 become and who actually gets in this year.

    And for those that like to watch NL, they’re in for a real treat this year.

    Yes, and those who want to watch Omaha (or HORSE) … a little more SOL.

    But the public doesn’t care to see those games, so they basically say F you to the hardcore poker fan minority.

    A fun thing to do is to go thru the guide and find some of the sloppy errors they made in their factfinding.
