Absolute on Trial?

Jen, you know more about Absolute than I do, so maybe you already know … but I wasn’t aware that Scott Tom’s dad (what’s his first name? he won a 2008 bracelet, I know that much) may or may not be under indictment.
Am also curious why any indictment in this case would be sealed.

That would be Phil Tom.

Any legitimacy to 911’s claims? I generally find that site sometimes to be on target, but sometimes off.

Gambling911 has been on this story for awhile, and I find it hard to believe they would print this kind of information without proof. But I’m just not sure how completely trustworthy the site is… And I’m not sure how to verify it. And if Absolute Poker is coming back with a serious allegations that it’s not true, it makes me wonder who is bluffing here.
I will try to look into it and see what I can come up with.

Who is Absolute Poker these days, anyhow?

Who is it? Tokwiro Enterprises, same folks who own UltimateBet.

Phil Tom’s in the country last I heard, and returned to the US from overseas recently as well. If he were had been indicted why wouldn’t he have been arrested. It’s not like he’s some overseas fugitive requiring them to keep the indictment sealed. The story doesn’t make any sense to me.
And G911 may occasionally be right, but they’re much lower on the totem pole than the National Enquirer, for example.
