Taking the nuts out for a spin

Borrowing the balls
I received this instant messenger transcript from our friend, SnG Steve. He obviously wants me to rag on him. Who am I to deny him of his masochistic urges? But seriously, I think all married pokerers have had this conversation at one time or another. Some of us more than others *Karridy sheepishly raises hand*. But rarely, if ever, do we get to witness it agonizingly chronicled in 10pt font.

Angela says: by the way…do you think it sounds OK for me to go to the Oscar Watch party that Erin is having
Angela says:
I need to email her back
SnG Steve says:
that’s fine with me
SnG Steve says:
can you check March 24th on calendar?
SnG Steve says:
that’s the other poker tournament I was telling you about

SnG Steve says:
it’s in [location removed]
SnG Steve says:
and is going to be 300 people
SnG Steve says:
didn’t know if it was ok for me to play in that one or not…
SnG Steve says:
good experience for me to play in a bigger event
Angela says:
how much is it to enter?
SnG Steve says:
a lot
Angela says:
a lot?
SnG Steve says:
either $250 or $300
Angela says:
well, I’m not going ot say no but that is a lot and I don’t think you woudl be Ok with me doing that but whatever
Angela says:
how much total are you spending these 2 weekends?
SnG Steve says:
I understand
SnG Steve says:
this week-end is $40
SnG Steve says:
next week-end is higher
SnG Steve says:
I think $150
Angela says:
That woudl be $200 total and that doesn’t include what you may spend if you go out after or whatever
Angela says:
let’s jsut talk about it later
SnG Steve says:
that’s why I have been trying to build my online bankroll so I could afford to play in some bigger events and see if I have any chance at bigger tournaments or not…
SnG Steve says:
ok, we’ll talk later
SnG Steve says:
btw: have you heard about peanut butter salmonalia break out? want to make sure we don’t have that brand
Angela says:
we don’t use that brand though…I buy jiff
SnG Steve says:
lucky us!

Yes, lucky you, Steve … Lucky you.

And that is why I took out bodog money…for the live poker and tournaments I am wanting to play. 🙂 Hopefully I make something from the investment…but even if I go bust it will be a blast.

Ed, you are my sleeper pick for the final table (and thereby the money) at the Pokerati Invitational. That or you will get 14th place.

The purpose of growing a bankroll is to move up in levels. If you are growing your “POKER” bankroll with the intention to use it for “POKER” or anything else then you should use your bankroll for your original intention without having to justify your decision.
If you made an agreement to build your bankroll to pay bills, well, then you might need a sit down.

If you are unable to pay your bills…see Bobby Baldwin’s Book.

Princess – I completely agree with you (and believe Karridy would too)! While I originally sent the transcript to Karridy as an excuse to talk poker and provide a much-needed laugh during a dull day at work, it does not provide the context or background on my sitution. Similar to Ed, I’ve been building up my FullTilt account to support my desire to play larger live games. Hopefully, I’ll have the chance to post further comments on the subject here in the near future. Cya at the PI!

That’ll teach you to trust me, SnG! Before I am burned at the stake, SnG knew I was gonna post it and I did so with permission.

You’ll notice that I have yet to post those pictures of your wife, so there’s still hope for my soul.
