An update from WSOP brass this morning about the final table jackets:

If you made a final table at the 2008 WSOP and you’re already back home – wherever in the world that may be – Harrah’s will mail your jacket to you. The company has sent notices with instructions to all final table players.

    I’m confused.

If all these players signed up for Total Rewards cards, don’t they have their addresses already? Why would they need to send a notice with instructions? Am I missing something?

It’s probably just to confirm the address or have the people verify that they want it mailed instead of waiting for pick-up.

I still contend that they gave away final table jackets in 2004, but Nolan Dalla’s emails keep saying the tradition stopped in 2003. Jen, if you get a chance to see Nolan, could you ask him about this?

I played in the media event in 2004, and they were giving out WSOP jackets to the final tablists, and I was bummed that I finished 15th. I’m fairly certain they gave them out for other events as well, or at least for the Main Event. (85% certain or so.)

Of course, that was the last year the WSOP was at Binion’s, but it was technically under Harrah’s management. You might also be able to ask Matt Savage, as he was tournament director that year.

Or, you could simply ignore this entire issue, since I am the only person on the planet who even remotely cares. 🙂
