Hard Rock Poker Room Manager “Resigns”

I know this is more of Dan’s area of expertise, but allvegaspoker.com is reporting that Houston Waldie, the Poker Room Manager of the recently opened room at the Hard Rock in Vegas, “voluntarily resigned”. The post in that forum mentions “darkish rumors” in Waldie’s past, whatever they are. More later from those in the know?

Kinda funny. A couple of us were just talking last night about him and how long he’ll last there.

FWIW, multiple poker rooms around town are re-staffing, trying to trim a little fat. Supposedly none other than Jack Effel is calling the shots at the Rio poker room now.

He seemed pretty cool. The one day I was in the Hard Rock poker room, we were playing 5-10 NL and he let us play rake free through the night to keep the action going.

Didn’t know him well but sad to hear him go
